Viability Assessments

Weekly update - 8 November 2019

What did we do this week?

  • Progress has continued on development of the comparison tool prototype, with the addition of search and filter functionality, and linking between the list of developments and the map on the user interface.
  • We’ve done a lot of work to understand our key outstanding questions and assumptions for testing, as well as how we will go about testing them and who with, leading to our testing plan for the remaining time, which will kick off in anger next week. We’ll share a couple of the specific tests we have in mind at next week’s show & tell.
  • We had a great session looking at the potential impact that this project could have in the future, nailing down our core audiences and the information that it would be best to present them with.

What's the plan for next week?

  • Our fourth show & tell will be taking place on Monday 11th at 2pm in the offices of the GLA in City Hall.
  • We will be spending time with case officers, viability officers and consultants to work through some testing experiments. We’ll be looking to understand how users might interact with the comparison tool to identify comparable sites, as well as how the tool might be used to help case officers become more confident and informed on viability.
  • We will continue to build out our prototype, with a focus on displaying the more detailed information for particular developments.
  • We’ll be laying the foundation for the wider impact story that could be used to inform the case for further phases of work.
