Viability Assessments

Weekly update - 11 October 2019

What did we do this week?

  • More research sessions with a variety of users - including remote testing with developers and colleagues from Gateshead council. We’ve continued to receive really valuable feedback and will be using our findings to steer the immediate development of prototypes
  • We have been installing and setting up initial front end components for our prototypes, using the GDS GOV.UK React library
  • We have been reaching out to more helpful voices in the industry, such as Homes England and the National Federation of Builders, to get their input and generate some more interest in the work
  • We have continued to cement our data schema and examine which data sources we will be drawing on for our first prototype(s), whilst preparing the back end to receive/store that data

What's the plan for next week?

  • We’ll be pulling together all of the findings, quotes, suggestions etc from our many testing sessions (we’ve spoken to over 20 people so far) into consolidated insights to inform our backlog
  • Our next show & tell is taking place at London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Mulberry Place, Monday 14 October, 2pm to 3pm
  • We will be trying to squeeze in a couple of final testing sessions of the concepts, to cover those areas where our research is currently thin, such as handling smaller developments
  • Full prototype development will start, based on priorities from user testing
