I joined Southwark over 9 years ago. Prior to coming to Southwark I worked as a Solicitor in a city law firm. I needed a change of career and decided to join Housing. I have taken good advantage of the opportunities available in Southwark to progress through the ranks.

I love working in Southwark, I have a very challenging job, albeit one I love and I am most passionate about. My team is responsible for the direct delivery of housing management services to over 17, 000 properties covering Camberwell, Walworth and Aylesbury. We are responsible for all aspects of tenancy and estate management, including estate inspection, fire safety, tackling anti-social behaviour and supporting regeneration schemes. I work in a complex and fast-paced environment, with a great team of dedicated Officers who work tirelessly to make a difference and ensure that our estates remain a clean and safe place for residents. Despite the current challenges, we have continued to provide the full range of services, while concentrating on support for vulnerable residents, making essential changes to the way we deliver services to protect residents and our Officers.

I am delighted that the council is keen to improve opportunities for BAME residents and staff and is taking positive action to ensure equality of opportunity for all.
