Applications and charges
There are different types of Building Control consent applications depending on the nature and status of your project.
We accept the following application types:
- Building Notice
- Full Plan
- Special or temporary structures (Section 30)
- Demolition (Sections 80 and 81)
We recommend that you use the Planning Portal to submit Building Notice, Full Plan, and Regularisation applications. Submitting your application online helps us to provide a faster and more responsive service. You can also apply by email or post.
How to pay for your application
Refer to the Building Control charges booklet 2022 (PDF, 444kb) for an up to date list of application charges. These charges have been in place since September 2022.
If you apply on the Planning Portal, then you can pay directly on their website. If you're applying directly to us, then we prefer payments to be made by card and you can contact us on 020 7525 5582.
Southwark Council uses your personal data to process building regulation applications. The building regulations require us to do this. The council does not need your permission and failure to tell us your information may mean that we cannot process your application.
Your personal information will only be used by our Building Control team and will be destroyed after 15 years.
If you're concerned about how the council is using your data, contact our Data Protection Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 020 75525 5000. More information about your rights is available on our website, or via the Information Commissioner (www.ico.org.uk).
