  • Feel Better with a Book, short stories / poems read aloud - first and third Wednesday of every month, 1.30pm to 3pm
  • Adult reading group - last Tuesday of every month, 6.30pm to 8pm (contact Silvia Romano about upcoming titles for discussion) refreshments available
  • Knitting Club - first and third Monday of every month, 5.30pm to 7.30pm
  • First Friday Club - first Friday of every month, 11am to 12.30pm
  • Chess Club - every second Friday of the month 5:30pm to 7:30pm
  • free computer classes and learning in libraries
  • Afternoon tea with short stories - every last Friday of the month, 1pm to 2pm

What else is on offer

Peckham's Black writing collection features a wide selection of black interest book. The library also features the largest collection of African music CDs in the borough and houses a fantastic range of graphic novels.


There's full access for people with disabilities, including a lift to the library on the fourth floor and the activity 'pods' on the fifth floor. If you'd like assistance using the lift, speak to a member of staff on the ground floor or fourth floor.

We also offer the following facilities:
