Buses in Southwark – have your say
What bus changes are being proposed in London and Southwark
Transport for London is consulting on changes to the bus network in inner London. If the proposals go through, Southwark will lose some of our bus routes altogether, making travel more difficult for many people.
Why buses are so important in Southwark
Buses are very important for Southwark which, unlike many boroughs, doesn’t have many tube stations. Buses are a cheaper and convenient way to get around our borough, to and from work, and to the West End and other places that people like to shop, visit, and go out in.
Which areas of Southwark will be impacted by bus cuts
We object to the proposals, and will be meeting with Transport for London and others to express our views on behalf of residents. We've summarised the main impacts on the following different neighbourhoods in Southwark:
- Camberwell
- Dulwich
- Elephant and Castle
- Nunhead
- Old Kent Road
- Peckham
- Rotherhithe and Bermondsey
Make sure your views are heard and let TfL know how these reductions impact you by responding to the consultation. You can do this before 11:59pm on 7 August 2022 by:
- filling out the bus consultation form
- emailing your thoughts to haveyoursay@tfl.gov.uk
- writing to TfL at FREEPOST TFL HAVE YOUR SAY (CLBR) (no stamp needed)
- calling TfL on 020 3054 6037
