Member allowances and expenses

In accordance with the Local Authorities (members allowances) (England) Regulations 2003, the council is required to publish details of any basic and special responsibility allowances paid to councillors for the previous financial year, along with details of the allowances scheme which applied at that time. This statutory notice also includes details of subsistence, travel and carer's allowance.

All councillors receive a basic allowance based on guidance decided by pan-London group London Councils of £12,021 per annum.

Councillors who take on extra roles are also entitled to a Special Responsibility Allowance (SRA). The SRAs are in seven bands and range from £3,144 for roles including deputy leader of the opposition, to £56,775 which is paid to the Leader of the Council.

These payments are published annually and you can view them below:

Full details of the allowance scheme can be found in the council's constitution.
