Cheltenham Road improvements

Improvements to walking and public transport facilities

Changes are being made to the footways, bus stop shelters and pedestrian crossing facilities along Cheltenham Road and at its junctions with Ivydale Road and Kelvington Road. These changes include widening the footways on Cheltenham Road between its junction with Surrey Road and Ivydale Road and at the junction with Kelvington Road, provision of an inset loading bay on Cheltenham Road and introduction of loading and waiting restrictions on Cheltenham Road, Ivydale Road and Kelvington Road.

Scheme objectives

improve journey times for passengers using the 343 and 484 bus routes
improve conditions for pedestrians with wider footways and junction buildouts
reduce conflict with other vehicles and improve road safety
