About me and my connection to Southwark
A lot of my work is inspired by London. I work in ink, to produce drawings
of views of the city. I often use a spot colour to highlight a feature such as a bus or a natural aspect or a person just going about their business. I try to find contrasts with the old and the new. I am also interested in the contrast with nature and the city. I have lived in Southwark for over twenty five years and have found living here a rich source of inspiration. London is constantly evolving but also there is history everywhere. This is the contrast that I find interesting and inspiring when walking the streets with my sketchbook. Southwark in particular is historic but also it doesn't stand still. It has a rich diversity of cultures, people, jobs, music and architecture which makes it an exciting place to live.
