Breastfeeding drop-in support groups
Breastfeeding support drop-ins are safe and comfortable places where you can be supported to start and continue breastfeeding. All pregnant women and breastfeeding people are welcome. A referral is not needed.
In Southwark, The Breastfeeding Network runs free drop-in breastfeeding support sessions:
- Mondays, 12 noon to 2pm at 1st Place Children and Parent’s Centre
- Tuesdays, 10am to 12 noon at Crawford Primary School and Children’s Centre
- Wednesdays, 12 noon to 2pm at Dulwich Wood Children's Centre
- Thursdays 10am to 12 noon at Southwark Park Playroom
- Fridays 10am to 12 noon at Rye Oak Children’s and Family Centre
The sessions are run by health visitors and peer supports and they can help you with:
- getting started with breastfeeding after birth
- overcoming common challenges like sore nipples or concerns about milk supply
- expressing and storing breastmilk
- introducing solid foods alongside breastfeeding
- continuing to breastfeed when returning to work
- ending your breastfeeding journey when the time is right for you
The Breastfeeding Network also offers virtual support, home visits and antenatal workshops.
