Help with parenting

For times when a parent or carer needs some extra support.

Health visitors

Health visitors work with families who have children aged under 5. They are registered nurses or midwives who give extra support to families who may need it, and connect them to the right support.

Your health visitor can give you help and advice on anything including:

  • feeding
  • sleeping
  • immunisations
  • contraception
  • your own emotional and mental health

They can also help with concerns about:

  • your child's health and development
  • your own ability to cope due to stress or ill health
  • other family problems affecting your children
