Cossall Park Master Plan public consultation
Cossall Park in Peckham has funding for phase 1 improvements. The second public consultation is now available online, where you can see the draft Master Plan and send in your views using the online form. The deadline for responses is 4 June 2019.

Burgess Park Woodland Play Area now open
A new play area has been built amongst the trees, near the entrance to Rust Square on Bowyer Place, SE5. The play area is part of a larger project called Burgess Park West which sees £3.5million investment in the park. The play area is now open, in time for the Easter holidays and we invite families to come and try it out.
Green Dale’s Green helpers
The Friends of Green Dale are an amazing team of 80 people who carry out work days every few months to help look after Green Dale Fields. Work days consist of cutting back brambles along the path edge, creating log piles from trees that are cut down and collecting litter.
Tanner Street fountain
Tanner Street fountain, a Grade II listed structure dating back to 1737 and part of the original turret at the top of St. Olaf’s Church in Tooley Street, has undergone refurbishment works. Proceeds from the sale of the church in 1918 helped to create what is now known as Tanner Street Park. As an acknowledgement of the original church, the turret was installed in the park.
South Dock Marina Christmas lights
During the month of December the Marina held a Christmas lights competition organised by Marine Canvas Hut with the aim of encouraging boat owners to decorate their boats and encourage community spirit. The competition was judged by Councillor Richard Livingston on the 5 January 2019. Winners were the following vessels in order of precedence: Bien star, Sammy, Zeelands Luister, Valentines way and Hercules.
Anyone for tennis
Refurbished tennis courts at Burgess Park are ready for play! Located near the Camberwell Road entrance, the courts are managed by Be Active who run courses for beginners and intermediate if you want to improve your game. Private coaching is also available. Please book online.
Honor Oak Crematorium
Works have now completed at Honor Oak Crematorium with the installation of two new mercury abated cremators and improvements to the staff facilities including refurbishment of the office and kitchen facilities.
Second in London and third in England for Green Flags
This year, 29 green spaces in Southwark were given the prestigious Green Flag Award for proven excellence in the management of parks and green spaces. Southwark is second for the most Green Flag Awards in London and third in England.
New award winner Tanner Street Park joined 28 green spaces in Southwark which had their Green Flag status renewed. The award recognises the best parks across the country, taking into account environmental factors, management and future planning policies along with community involvement.
