North Peckham Healthy Streets

As part of the healthy streets scheme, we recently introduced a controlled parking zone in the area, which has effectively reduced parking pressures. We're now proposing to implement improvements for people walking and cycling at key junctions to make the area safer for all road users.

Scheme objectives

The objective of the scheme is to improve facilities for people walking and cycling within the North Peckham area by:

  • Closing St George's Way to through motor traffic, with a barrier east of Chandler Way (under an experimental traffic order)
  • Installing a two-way cycle track on part of Commercial Way and making changes to the crossing at Moody Road to help people walking and cycling to cross Commercial Way

There are also improvements proposed at the junction of Kelly Avenue and Peckham Road, which will be delivered with TfL.
