What is an Internship
An internship is a meaningful work placement and should last a minimum of 4 weeks. Internships supported by Southwark Council and our partners must:
- offer a structured opportunity to complete “real work”
- pay a minimum of London Living Wage
- include standard employee benefits
- be offered to undergraduates, recent graduates, or sixth form students who are residents of Southwark
Employers are also encouraged to work towards the Mayor’s Good Work Standard when employing an intern; the standard can help your organisation to contribute to a fairer and more inclusive London economy.
