National Apprenticeship Week 2023

Support for apprentices and employers impacted by COVID-19

The Redundancy Support Service for apprentices

The coronavirus pandemic has caused some organisations to make redundancies. To support apprentices who have been made redundant or think they might be in the future, the government has launched the Redundancy Support Service for apprentices.

Apprentices can call 0800 015 0400 to get free advice, find new opportunities, and access local and national support services offering financial, health and wellbeing, legal and careers advice.

Apprentices can also register with the vacancy sharing service to find employers who are interested in hiring apprentices at risk of redundancy.

Recruit an apprentice who has been made redundant

Apprentices made redundant may already have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to add value to your organisation.

If you're interested in hiring apprentices who have been made redundant because of the pandemic, you can share what opportunities you have available through the government’s new vacancy sharing service.
