If you're at risk of being homeless
How we support people at risk of being homeless. How to contact us and what happens next.
Decisions we review
If you disagree with our decision about your homeless application, you can ask us to review it.
You can ask for a review of our decision if:
- we decide that you are not homeless or at risk of homelessness or are intentionally homeless
- we decide we do not have to help you because of your immigration or legal status
- we decide we don't have to help you with housing
- you think the housing you're offered is not suitable
- you disagree with the housing plan
- we decide you have not taken the steps you were meant to in your housing plan
- we decide you are not a priority need
- we've referred you to another council and they accept they must help you – depending on when we referred you
- we've decided we no longer have to help you because you've deliberately and unreasonably refused to cooperate – if you are homeless, eligible for help, in priority need and not intentionally homeless
Other decisions we review
You can also request a review of decisions we've made about your Housing Register or Local Lettings Plan application. This includes:
- decisions about the facts of your case that affect whether we allocate housing to you
- if we decide you're not eligible to join the housing register
