If you're in a mental health crisis

Get 24-hour NHS help in a mental health crisis

If you need urgent help for your mental health, but it's not an emergency, contact the local NHS 24-hour health support line on 0800 731 2864 (option 1). Find out more about the mental health crisis service from the NHS South London and Maudsley Hospital or call NHS 111 and select the mental health option.

Southwark Community Sanctuary is a safe, welcoming and supportive space for anybody aged over 18 experiencing emotional distress or in a crisis. You can get help by completing their referral form.

In an emergency always call 999.

Support if you feel life is no longer worth living

The Listening Place also provides free, face-to-face support for those who feel that life is no longer worth living. You can refer yourself for help with them.  

Samaritans are here to listen – day or night, 365 days a year, when life is difficult – call them free on 116 123.
