Borough Music School

Borough Music School offers individual and group instrumental teaching to children (mainly of primary age) at subsidised cost, targeting families whose children would benefit but whose parents cannot afford private fees.

Centre for Young Musicians

The Centre for Young Musicians provides teaching and experience for children across the full spectrum of musical styles, from beginners to the most advanced students.

CM  

CM is a music charity which offers education, training and artist support programmes for musicians, especially young people who have not enjoyed mainstream educational opportunities.

London Youth Choirs – LYC South East Junior Choir

LYC runs 7 choirs around London for young people aged 7-23, with tuition and performance opportunities designed to educate and inspire, build confidence, and develop skills in teamwork and leadership.

Set up in January 2020, LYC South East is a mixed voice choir for boys and girls in school years 3-6, and rehearses on Thursday afternoons near Canada Water. Here, the foundations of choral singing, music reading and performance are put in place in an environment that is creative, supportive and fun. LYC work hard to ensure there are no barriers to being a part of LYC; all fees are subsidised, and they have an extensive financial assistance scheme.

Pembroke Academy of Music

Pembroke Academy of Music provides 8 to 16 year olds in the Walworth area with intensive instrumental and vocal tuition, aimed at developing their talents and increasing opportunities for musical education and performance.

Raw Material

Raw Material provides music and video production, events, DJ'ing and support for developing and emerging young artists.

Southwark Music Service

Southwark Music Service and Southwark Music Service Saturday centres teaches children and young people to play instruments and sing. Our expert tutors work in schools throughout the borough and run Saturday centres where everyone plays in a group or a band. The Saturday centres are open on Saturday mornings during term time for children in school Years 3 to 6. 

Wired 4 Music

Wired 4 Music is a collective of talented and inspirational young people from across London, who are passionate about music and want to communicate their thoughts, ideas and opinions about music in the city.

Midi Music Company

The Midi Music Company offers music making programme for young people, providing access to professional tuition, musical instruments, new technologies, lyric writing and information about the music industry.
