Homes for Ukraine Scheme hosts privacy notice

Privacy notice about information requested by Southwark Council from sponsors under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme.

Under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme, Southwark Council is required by the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and the Home Office to undertake accommodation and safeguarding checks on all Southwark-based sponsors and members of their household. This includes Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks for all adults (age 16+) in the sponsor’s household.  The results of these safety checks will be reported back to DLUHC and the Home Office

Southwark Council is also responsible for providing practical assistance to guests, so they can access essential services and integrate into the local community. The council will use data collected from sponsors and/or guests to provide support directly, as well as to refer on to other relevant statutory and voluntary sector service providers. The information we process will be provided to us directly by you. 

All personal data collected will be stored securely in line with Data Protection legislation. We will keep the information for as long as is necessary in accordance with the DLUHC guidelines.
