The UK General Election is on 4 July. 
Register to vote by 18 June.
If you need to vote by post, you must apply to do this by 5pm on 19 June.
You need valid photo ID to vote in person. If you don’t have valid ID, apply by 5pm on 26 June for a Voter Authority Certificate.

Your councillors

Southwark Council is made up of 23 wards. Two or three councillors are elected from each ward making it a total of 63 councillors.

The Labour party has 52 councillors, the Liberal Democrat party has 11 councillors.

Elections for the council are held every four years. The last election took place on 5 May 2022.

The council is made up of six departments:

  • Children's and Adults' Services
  • Environment, Neighbourhoods and Growth
  • Finance
  • Housing
  • Assistant Chief Executive - Strategy and Communities
  • Assistant Chief Executive - Governance and Assurance
