Register to vote by 18 June.
If you need to vote by post, you must apply to do this by 5pm on 19 June.
You need valid photo ID to vote in person. If you don’t have valid ID, apply by 5pm on 26 June for a Voter Authority Certificate.

What to do if you experience sexual harassment

If you feel unsafe, move to a place of safety. This could be a coffee shop, bar or shop.  Anywhere there are people around.

How to report sexual harassment

In an emergency, call the police on 999.

You can report the incident online to your local police force or call 101.

Although you don’t have to report the crime to the police if you don’t want to, they will take reports of sexual harassment seriously. 

Crimestoppers

If you have information about harassment happening in public, call 0800 555111 or fill in the online form to report harassment through Crimestoppers. You can remain anonymous.

Victim support services

If you’ve been a victim of sexual harassment, remember it is never your fault - no matter what the circumstances are.

Remember that if you are feeling upset, or would like to talk with someone, you can find support with the following organisations:

  • Women and Girls Network

    Women and Girls Network’s Sexual Violence Helpline 0808 801 0770 offers free and confidential emotional support for anyone in London who self identifies as a woman (aged 14+), and has been affected by any form of sexual violence, at any time in their lives.

  • Rape Crisis England and Wales 

    Support for anybody aged 16 or over who has been affected by rape, sexual abuse, or any other type of sexual violence.

  • Refuge

    A national charity providing accommodation and advice and support to victims of domestic abuse

  • Hersana CIC 

    Specialist resources for Black women, girls and femmes who have experienced any form of sexual violence. Free chat, advocacy, or therapy.

  • Galop

    Support for LGBTQ+ people who have experienced abuse or violence.

  • Survivors UK 

    Advocacy and support for men and non-binary people who have been affected by rape or sexual abuse.

  • National Association for People Abused in Childhood

    Support to adult survivors of all types of childhood abuse, including physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect.

Southwark Services

  • Bede House Starfish Project

    Offers advice and support to people affected by domestic abuse who are Southwark residents.

  • Pecan Southwark Women’s Space

    A women only space offering advice and support on a range of issues including domestic abuse.

  • SOLACE Women’s Aid

    Domestic abuse and sexual abuse support service for  Southwark residents.

  • The Nest

    Provides free and confidential mental wellbeing advice and support for young people in Southwark
