Art in the Park
This series of summer workshops is:
- for people of all ages
- inspired by Tree of Life myths, culminating in an exhibition in the Art in the Park studios and Chumleigh Gardens
- co-curated with the participants
- made up of activities including movement life drawing with dancers and musicians, large-scale collaborative drop-in drawing activities, weaving and drawing with natural materials
Bounce Legacy CIC
This free-to-access creative development programme:
- is aimed at creating entry points to the film industry for marginalised young people (aged 16 to 25) from Global Majority backgrounds
- includes activities such as live screenings, workshops and filmmaking sessions
- provides beneficiaries with mentoring, production skills and pathways to employment
Candoco Dance Company
This intensive dance project is:
- intended for young D/deaf and disabled, neurodivergent and non-disabled young people (aged 16 to 24)
- supported by an outreach programme at local mainstream colleges and 2 SEN youth dance companies
- full of activities including workshops, teacher training, and a ‘choreography lab’ supporting the development of D/deaf and disabled choreographers
Dulwich Picture Gallery
Out of Frame 2 is a project that:
- aims to increase the visibility of queer friendly programming across the gallery exhibitions and expanded gardens
- includes targeted events and activities, such as visitor tours exploring queer history of the gallery
- involves performances and workshops co-programmed with Southwark-based LGBTQI+ groups
Finding Rhythms
A year-long programme of music-making activities including:
- wraparound employability support from Finding Rhythm’s studio space at Peckham Levels
- participants from Global Majority backgrounds, identified through referral partners, who develop their creative music skills and receive mentoring, building towards a King's Trust qualification
- the enhancement of the professional development offer for past alumni, like access to studio space with a producer, live showcases, masterclasses and the formation of an alumni board
Inspiral London
A project with the following 2 strands:
- supporting organisational development and staff training, and exploring culturally inclusive practices, leading to the recruitment of new leadership and creative associates from Global Majority backgrounds
- the creation of 3 walking tour performances exploring Black history in collaboration with Global Majority artists
Silly Goose
A series of comedy events with:
- targeted promotion and improved access, aimed at diversifying and increasing Black, Asian and minority ethnic audiences to be more representative of the population of Southwark
- the creation of promotional materials, including physical advertising in specific wards across the borough, and the distribution of digital content to a wider audience
Siobhan Davies Dance
The project will:
- strengthen governance and increase disability representation on the company’s board of trustees
- recruit a new group of paid community steering group members who are disabled/Latinx through a targeted programme of participatory workshops, community events and training
Tate Modern
The project aims at:
- removing barriers to access for Black, Asian and minority ethnic visitors to the Tate Modern by targeting local people in partnership with grassroots and community organisations
- providing activities that will enhance the existing outreach programme, including private views of three major exhibitions and a series of community garden events
The Mum’s Collective
The multidisciplinary creative wellbeing programme aims at:
- removing barriers to cultural participation for mothers from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds
- including activities like monthly workshops focused on art therapy and visual storytelling, poetry, spoken word and creative writing, music and sound healing
- culminating in community events celebrating the work that is created
TRASS
'Southwark’s Windrush Legacy: Bridging Generations and Building Futures' celebrates the contributions of the Windrush generation to Southwark and the UK.
This intergenerational project will:
- engage communities through cultural, educational, and creative activities that honour the experiences of Windrush elders
- involve activities including storytelling workshops, a travelling heritage exhibition, a mentoring programme for young people, and a cultural festival coinciding with National Windrush Day
