We’ve awarded Culture Together Grant funding to 13 organisations based in the borough, an investment of £147,354 in activities.
The grants benefit residents and contribute to the diverse arts and culture in Southwark. They include:
- Art in the Park - summer workshops
- Bermondsey Artists’ Group (Southwark Park Galleries) - 40th anniversary programme of activities
- Blue Elephant Theatre - development of a multi-sensory family show with and for young people with complex access and communication needs.
- British Youth Music Theatre - a range of events with integrated dance company Candoco
- Philharmonia Orchestra - Orchestra Unwrapped’, an education programme for Southwark schools
- Peckham Platform - intergenerational artist-led gatherings and workshops focused on Peckham “Aunties”
- Queer Diary CIC - creative workshops for LGBTQIA+ people in Southwark, including accessibility training
- Siobhan Davies Dance - sessions with Southwark Disablement Association and Southwark Black Parents Forum and family events
- South London Gallery - Schools Programme to explore themes of inclusion and anti-racism
- Southwark Black Parents’ Forum - project celebrating Black heritage and culture through dance, drama and photography
- Staffordshire Street - expansion of public programme including arts shows and community heritage projects
- Theatre Peckham - training, showcasing, and performance opportunities for young people aged 3 to 25
- Time and Talents Association - creation of a feature mosaic for the Old Mortuary by local residents
