Children Residential Care Homes

Why we have chosen St Mary’s Road

Smaller children’s homes, like the one proposed on St Mary’s Road, are better than larger homes as they have a more homely feel. Smaller homes also allow staff to provide caring and compassionate support. We have identified a property on St Mary’s Road as suitable to meet these needs.

We plan to refurbish the property and add an extension to make it suitable as a children’s home. It will still look like a normal residential property. We are aiming to submit a planning application for the building work in summer 2022.

Once complete, the property will be ready as a children’s home for up to five children, aged between 10 and 16 along with staff. There will be staff in the home at all times.

We are aiming to submit a planning application for the necessary building work in summer 2022. You will be able to comment on the planning application if you wish.

We're aiming to complete the building work and open the property as a children’s residential home in spring 2023.
