Support for High Streets
Crowd funding can be a great way of raising funds to make a difference within your local community alongside programmes like the High Street Challenge and Cleaner, Greener Safer funds.
What is crowd funding
Crowd funding is a way of raising finance by asking a large number of people to each contribute a small amount of money for a specific project.
Why crowd funding
Using crowdfunding to generate public support has become more mainstream, it allows you to raise awareness and support, get validation for your idea, unlock grants and other funds as well as create a band of advocates for your project.
Whilst crowd funding can help raise funds for a project, it's a big commitment and time consuming so needs to be built into project delivery plans. This link details some guidance.
