Description
In a world where climate discussions are largely dominated by predictable players including civil rights, governmental, and non-governmental groups, Victor Babawarun is inspired to host local grassroots meetings solely focused on discussing practical ways to combat climate change without the customary hype, distractions, and emotions.Victor is a local environmentalist passionate about addressing climate change through community engagement and climate education. With a background in geology and conservation ecology, he has worked and volunteered in nature conservation organisations across multiple countries. He has been a substantial contributor to climate discussions both online and in-person settings including Southwark Library's First Friday Club.
At the Southwark Festival of Words, he aims to discuss the current and future impacts of climate change on the borough of Southwark, as well as the 'win-win' strategies through which the community can support the council's climate goals. Don't miss this opportunity to engage in a community discussion about climate change.
