The UK General Election is on 4 July. 
Register to vote by 18 June.
If you need to vote by post, you must apply to do this by 5pm on 19 June.
You need valid photo ID to vote in person. If you don’t have valid ID, apply by 5pm on 26 June for a Voter Authority Certificate.

Retirement pension

The following notes are intended to help you with any questions you may have regarding your retirement pension from the council.

Payment of pension

Your pension will normally be paid on the 20th day of the month or the last working day before this if the 20th falls on the weekend. The pension will be paid by direct credit to your bank or building society account. You'll be sent a payslip every month shortly before you receive your payment.

Payment of retirement grant

Payment of the retirement grant will be sent direct to your account by BACS credit a few days after completion of the retirement process or on or around your retirement date (if this is later).

Payment of lump sum compensation

If you're also receiving lump sum compensation, it will be paid in the same way as your retirement grant.
