About me and my connection to Southwark

Isa Suarez is a composer and singer-songwriter based in Peckham. Her music is often described as ‘out of the box’ and eclectic. She creates contrasting sound worlds spanning a range of genres across film, visual art and performance.

Originally from the Basque region (Spain/France), she trained as a classical musician (piano, Le Conservatoire). Her works have been performed, broadcast and exhibited in U.K and worldwide including: Tate Britain, BBC, Resonance FM, Cannes and Hollywood Film festivals, Glastonbury and Edinburgh International Festivals, Cape Town and Berlin Art Bienales…

Suarez was the first artist in residency in Southwark, with support from Acme Studios, Southwark Council, South London Gallery and Arts Council England. 2006/07
