About me and my connection to Southwark
I am Fran Olivares Medina, a versatile theatremaker with a special emphasis on directing and teaching. My work is informed by global techniques from my training in Moscow, Bali, Chile, and the UK. As a multilingual creative, I actively work on making theatre more accessible, involving myself in various aspects from research to script analysis and liaising with design teams.
Living in South East London, not only enriches my artistic practice but also strengthens my ties to my local community. I feel a deep-rooted commitment to my Latinx community here, advocating for its representation both locally and in the UK's wider theatre scene. This advocacy is an integral part of my overarching goal to foster inclusivity and multicultural exchange in the world of theatre.
