In year admissions

Admission appeals

In accordance with the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 (SSFA), you have the right to appeal against the decision not to offer your child a place at a preferred school.

Community schools

If you're unsuccessful in being offered an in year school place for your child at a Southwark community school and want to appeal, read our in year admissions appeals information sheet (PDF, 450kb) and complete our in year appeal form (PDF, 180kb).

All appeal forms for community schools must be completed and returned by email to schools.admissions@southwark.gov.uk.

Non-community schools

If you were unsuccessful in being offered an in year school place for your child at an academy, voluntary aided, foundation or free school in Southwark, please contact the school directly for information on their appeals process.

For further advice on school admissions including the availability of places, waiting lists and admissions criteria or if you have any questions, please contact our school admissions team by email at inyear.admissions@southwark.gov.uk.
