Register a small society lottery

You need to register if you wish to run a small lottery, such as a raffle, for a non-commercial society with the head office is in Southwark.

After you've applied

The registration is valid for a year from the date it is granted.

Lottery record returns 

You have to send us details of the lottery within 3 months of the draw date. This includes information like:

  • when you sold tickets
  • when the prize draw happened
  • how much money was raised
  • how much was spent on prizes and other costs
  • how much money went towards the reason your society was set up
  • any other expenses not covered by the money raised

Complete the lottery returns form. 

Appeal a licence refusal

You can appeal to the magistrates’ court if your application for a non-commercial lottery licence is refused.

You can appeal to the magistrates’ court if your application is refused, or if you object to any conditions listed on the licence.
