Antisocial behaviour case review

We understand that where antisocial behaviour (ASB) is not dealt with effectively, it can have a significant impact on victims and in some cases the wider community.

The ASB case review (formerly known as community trigger) offers victims of persistent antisocial behaviour the right to request a review of their case.

An ASB case review does not replace our complaints procedures or those of other community safety partners. It does not affect your right to complain to the Local Government Ombudsman or the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

Who can request an ASB case review

You can ask for a review for yourself, a community group or a business.

Your MP, local councillor, or someone you nominate such as a friend or carer can also ask for a review on your behalf.

You cannot use the ASB case review anonymously.

When you can request an ASB case review

You must already have done one of these:

  • reported 3 separate antisocial behaviour incidents in the last 6 months where no effective action has been taken
  • reported 1 hate crime incident within the last 6 months where no effective action has been taken

Each report must have been made to either the council, police, or a registered housing provider within 1 month of it taking place.

How to request an ASB case review

If you think your problem meets the threshold, you can request an ASB case review online.

Or you can write to:

Southwark Antisocial Behaviour Unit
160 Tooley Street
SE1 2QH

Please ensure you have all the information to hand before you begin. You must include:

  • your name, address and contact details
  • details of the problem(s)
  • when and where it happened
  • the dates you reported the problem and reference numbers if available
  • all the organisations and names of officers you previously reported it to
