Antisocial and threatening behaviour

What antisocial behaviour is and how to report it

If someone is injured, being threatened or in danger, always call 999.

We know that antisocial behaviour (ASB) can have a devastating impact on communities, individuals and businesses if left untackled. We are committed to protecting all those affected by it.

We define antisocial behaviour as “acting in a manner that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress”.

This can cover a wide range of behaviour including:

  • hate-related incidents
  • drugs
  • threatening behaviour or harassment
  • neighbour disputes
  • dog-related ASB on estates
  • youth disorder
  • begging
  • street drinking
  • sex work
  • loitering
  • misuse of mopeds, motorcycles, e-scooters and e-bikes
  • arson
  • graffiti
  • squatting
  • trespassing
  • large or problematic gatherings
