Total housing permissions and delivery
The Southwark Plan 2022 sets out the strategic vision for development in the borough. It sets our targets from 2019 to 2036 to ensure that developments deliver the required growth and improvements.
The Southwark Plan includes a target, set by the London Plan, for the number of homes delivered each year. For Southwark this is 40,035 homes by 2036 (or 2,355 annually).
The target is informed by the London Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA) and the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA).

Housing delivery test and action plans
The government's housing delivery test (HDT) is an annual assessment of the number of additional homes delivered in each local authority.
It takes into account lost dwellings due to demolitions and conversions, and other types of accommodation delivered.
