Limesford Road Wall

NOTICE IS GIVEN that we're applying to the Consistory Court of the diocese for permission to carry out the following below.

Works to the Nunhead Cemetery boundary wall along Limesford Road to prevent its collapse outwards onto the pavement and the public highway, consisting of:

  1. Reduce the height of the existing cemetery boundary wall to ground level within the cemetery. The footpath on Limesford Road is one meter lower than the cemetery ground level.
  2. Construct a new retaining brick wall to replicate and match the existing wall.
  3. Retain existing wall to protect the graves.
  4. The new wall will be constructed immediately in front of the existing cemetery wall.
  5. The new wall will be built on the highway with reinforced concrete cantilever footing and foundations.
  6. Undertake all works from outside of the cemetery to protect the graves. There will be no disturbance of burials or trees within the cemetery.
