Gardening, growing and conservation

There are many ways you can get involved in gardening and growing, whether you own your own garden or not.

You'll find lots of benefits from getting involved with a growing project, including:

  • improving the local environment
  • supporting the local wildlife
  • learning how to grow your own food
  • improving your own health and wellbeing

Throughout the year, growing projects look for volunteers to give a helping hand to tidy, tend and dig or harvest. It’s a great way to get some fresh air, learn new skills, exercise and meet local people. You'll also be amazed at how good it feels to connect with nature.

We've listed some examples of growing projects in the borough and links for further information.
