Council calls on local businesses to help stamp out racism

3 July 2020

Southwark Council has written to local businesses to ask them to join the council in standing together against racism and injustice, and to work with us to take positive action to ensure equality of opportunity and a fairer future for all.

Cllr Johnson Situ, Cabinet Member for Growth and Planning, is leading a new, proactive approach in this area of work, which is called Southwark Stands Together.

As part of this the council is writing to businesses as important partners in the borough, to invite them to be part of this work. The council has set out a number of pledges which it are asking businesses and organisations in the borough to sign up to, to demonstrate their commitment to this cause.
