Rent prize draw - terms and conditions

Terms and conditions:

  • The prize draw is open to any person aged 18 and over, who is liable to pay rent to Southwark Council or, set up arrangements to pay their rent via Direct Debit and are not in arrears. If you are in arrears or a court order exists, you must be up to date with your arrangement or court order with Southwark Council at the point of the prize draw, which will be monthly.

  • Must be paying via Direct Debit and not via Standing Order.

  • Elected members and employees of Southwark Council and their spouses will not be eligible for inclusion in the prize draw.

  • You can win only once during the financial year of 22/23.

  • Arrangements to pay your rent by Direct Debit must be in place and at least one payment made via this method at the time of the draw and the Direct Debit must not bounce.

  • All customers who pay their 2022/23 rent by Direct Debit and are up to date with their rent and any court orders or arrangements will be automatically entered into the prize draw.

  • Requests to pay your rent via Direct Debit but a single Direct Debit has not been taken will be accepted and a Direct Debit will be set up as the new payment method, but will NOT be eligible for inclusion in the prize draw.

Winner:

  • The prize draw will take place monthly.

  • The Director of Exchequer Services and the Head of Income Operations will oversee the prize draw.

  • The winner will be chosen at random from all customers with a live Direct Debit.

  • The prizewinner must be paying their rent by Direct Debit and not be in arrears with their rent or behind on an arrangement or court order at the draw.

  • The prizewinner will be notified in writing of the results as soon as practicable after the draw date.

  • The name of the prizewinner may be published in the local press and council communications, with the prizewinner’s agreement.

  • The outcome of the draw is final.

 Prize:

  • There is only one prize.

  • The prize winner will win £250 worth of Vouchers for either of the following supermarkets; Sainsbury’s, M&S, Morrison’s, Asda or Tesco.

  • No alternative prize will be offered and the prize cannot be transferred to another person.

  • Southwark Council will notify the winner in writing.
