Putting Residents First Standards

The Putting Residents First standards were first introduced in 2013. The aim of the standards is to explain how we will consult with you and how you can get involved during our major works projects and your role in each stage.

The standards were originally developed by a team led by Councillor Ian Wingfield, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Communities, in consultation with residents.

The Putting Residents First standards have been reviewed twice since they were originally introduced. The most recent review was completed and approved by Cabinet in September 2021.

The standards will help you find additional information to help you understand who is involved during our major works projects and their key responsibilities. The standards apply to everyone involved in carrying out major works to your home, whether they work for the council, are one of our contractors or one of our professional technical advisors.

If you have a query relating to our major works programmes or about the standards please contact Investment Planning.
