Health theme

In our health theme, we are working to ensure that we are:

Harnessing the passion and commitment of our Black, Asian, and minority ethnic communities to address health inequalities hearing their views on effective health and care and working with a fully mobilised health sector.

Developing a strong approach working across the health and care sector and partner organisations to address wider health inequalities that impact Black, Asian, and minority ethnic communities’ physical, mental and emotional wellbeing

We are working on developing a Health Inequalities Strategy for our Health and Wellbeing Board, which also provides a vehicle for embedding action on race equality with wider health partners.

Working to ensure that organisations identify and remove all discrimination from frontline to backroom practice, to improve the experiences of Black, Asian and minority ethnic patients in health and care

We are focusing on the development of COVID-19 prevention services that prioritise tackling racial inequality in terms of access and impact. For example, the Community Health Ambassador programme working to involve and reach out to Black, Asian, and minority ethnic communities.
