Understand your rights at work and where to get support if you need it.

Common employment issues

You should get help or advice if your rights are not being protected at work. For example, if you are:

  • being asked to work more hours than you are legally allowed to
  • being asked to work in unsafe conditions
  • not being paid the National Minimum Wage
  • not allowed to take time off for sickness, caring for a family member, parental and bereavement leave
  • put under pressure to return to work after giving birth or illness
  • being treated unfairly due to a disability, your race of religion
  • dismissed without explanation
