Sick pay

You should qualify for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) if you:

  • have started work for an employer
  • are an employee or an agency worker
  • earn an average of at least £125 a week
  • have been ill for more than 3 days in a row

If you’re not eligible or your SSP ends, you may be able to apply for Universal Credit or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).

Working hours

Working hours and conditions are governed by law, including the working time directive.

You should not be treated unfairly because of your ethnicity, gender, age, religion or other things that are defined as protected characteristics by the Discrimination and Equality Act 2010.
