Connect with your community at the library
Find community information and join in with an activity or group.
Our libraries are welcoming places for everyone to visit and connect with the local community.
We have a range of services for everyone from early years through to older residents.
Southwark libraries are proud to have been awarded Libraries of Sanctuary status.
Community information
Come to your local library to find out what’s available in your community. You can talk to staff and check our notice boards for local information. For example:
- how to access your local council services
- local courses for adults
- places to go like cinemas and restaurants
- how to find and apply to a local nursery school
You can even check your blood pressure in one of our health kiosks.
Activities
We run regular groups, activities and one-off events to help you connect with your community. At our libraries you can:
- join a reading group
- join in with a babies and toddlers session
- watch a film
- learn how to knit
- hear a talk on local history
- learn how to use a computer
- join a coding club

Warm spaces
All of our libraries are warm spaces where you can enjoy being with other people, out of the cold.
