Census 2021

Support to complete your Census form

The Office of National Statistics (ONS) has a wealth of information on its website at www.census.gov.uk, including extensive online guidance to all aspects of the census form before and during completion of the questionnaire, British Sign Language, audio-described and subtitled videos for each question on the form, language support for each question across a wide range of languages, and services including ordering individual unique access codes or paper forms in standard or large print, easy-read-leaflets.

If you live in Southwark and want to get some help or advice to fill out your Census form you can speak to the council’s trained Census Support Officers at Southwark’s libraries on 020 7525 5144.

The phone line is currently staffed from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and the answer phone is on out of hours so if we aren’t able to take your call, you can leave a number and someone will get back to you.

The national support line 0800 141 2021 also gives the option to complete via text relay, automated fulfilment (IVR) or to speak to an advisor and complete over the phone.

There is also a dedicated language support line, 0800 587 2021.
