Safe Havens and Safe Spaces

Safe Havens

If you're feeling threatened, are being harassed on the street, are being followed, or just feeling unsafe and in need of some help, look for the Safe Haven sign in business windows

Staff at Safe Haven locations have been trained to support anyone who feels unsafe or has been harassed, including helping organise safe transport home or calling family, friends or the police.

Safe Space

Southwark Safe Spaces are for victim-survivors of domestic abuse.

A Safe Space is where people who are experiencing domestic abuse can make a phone call to get help. We understand that many people in this situation can’t make a phone call from home or on a mobile phone. A Safe Space is where you can get the help you need.

There are currently 49 Safe Spaces rooms around the borough that carry the Safe Space logo. Many of our Safe Spaces are open to all to welcome and support you.

To find the location of your closest Safe Space, email CommunitySafety@southwark.gov.uk.

Find more information and support if you're experiencing domestic abuse.

If you're in immediate danger call the police on 999. If you're unable to talk, once connected to 999 press 55 for the Silent Solution system. Your call will be transferred to the police
