What we will fund with Neighbourhood Grants
Capital spending
Examples of capital spending that we will fund include:
- measures to address fly-tipping
- designing out grot spots
- tree and flower planting
- community gardens
- wildlife areas
- lighting
- fencing
- bicycle storage
- children’s playgrounds and ball courts (works on existing or new ones)
- picnic areas
- hard and soft landscaping to improve an area
Revenue spending
Examples of revenue spending that we will fund include
- hire costs, for example of a venue or hall, van, play equipment, bouncy castle, generator or animals
- sports equipment
- radio or walkie-talkies
- music equipment or PA system
- portaloos, bunting, marquees and barriers
- sessions and workshops
- volunteer expenses
- stationery
- food and drink
- publicity (flyers, adverts and printing costs)
- promotional events
- tents, stalls and gazebos
- small training equipment like footballs, tennis balls, cones, removable goal posts
- small hand-held gardening tools
- project costs, including project staff and sessional workers (like tutors, trainers, coaches, facilitators, consultants, artists and performers)
- website remodelling (not salaries, ongoing administration costs or registration)
