Apply for funding to support special interest groups and social clubs for young people with special education needs and disabilities
The aim of the funding
The funding is for the development and delivery of special interest groups and social clubs for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The projects should support young people, aged 16 and over, to:
- connect with peers around shared interests
- develop hobbies and interests that can continue into adulthood
- develop new and existing skills for the future
Key deliverables
The key deliverable for funded projects are:
- to deliver group sessions during evenings and weekends and/or holiday periods
- to deliver provision around particular themes or activities that align to the interests of young people with SEND in Southwark, for example:
- coding, gaming or technology
- arts, drama or dance
- music, music-making, DJ-ing
- film, film-making, animation
- nature and outdoor activities
- sport (such as boxing, basketball, football, boccia, badminton, tennis, swimming, cycling, bowling, pool)
- special interests or hobbies (such as trains, transport, debating, upcycling, beauty)
- skills for the future (such as food, cookery, travel or volunteering)
- friendships and relationships
