Southwark Climate Collective

Southwark Council is proud to be a supporting partner of the Southwark Climate Collective, a 12-month programme designed to support SMEs across the borough in taking action on climate change. The programme is funded under the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and supported by the Mayor of London.

More than 180 Southwark-based SMEs have signed up for the initiative, which provides free, bespoke decarbonisation support to reduce carbon emissions, increase efficiency and cut costs.

Twenty-one per cent of businesses registered for the programme are Black, Asian or minority ethnic-led or owned.

During the first half of 2024, participants will receive an audit of one of four areas of their business operations – energy, waste, freight and supply chains – and an accompanying recommendation report.

Participating businesses will have access to a data dashboard to track and measure progress towards their decarbonisation targets over the twelve months. They're also being offered the opportunity to join at least three expert-led training sessions, designed to support their organisations in implementing some of the recommendations provided, as well as a full-day session on carbon literacy training, three networking events and a celebration event at the end of the programme.
