How to vote

If you are registered to vote, you can vote in person or by post. You can also apply for someone else to vote for you.

Vote by post

If you are registered to vote, you can apply to vote by post. You must apply by 5pm 11 working days before the election.

Visit the GOV.UK website to apply for a postal vote.

To apply, you'll need:

  • your National Insurance number, or proof of your identity such as a passport, photo driving license, EEA identity card or biometric immigration document
  • to upload a clear photo of your signature

You can get help filling out the online form at our libraries.

Alternatively, you can download a paper application form or email electoral.enquiries@southwark.gov.uk to ask for a paper version of the form to be sent to you.

Send the completed form to:

Cancel your postal vote

If you have a postal vote, you will not be able to vote in person at a polling station, unless you cancel your postal vote in writing no later than 5pm, 11 working days before an election.

To cancel your postal vote, email electoral.enquiries@southwark.gov.uk. In the email you should include:

  • your full name and address
  • the date from which you want to cancel your postal vote

Cancelling your postal vote does not cancel your voter registration. You can still vote in person at your polling station.
