How to vote
Overview
There are three ways that you can vote in an election or referendum:
- in person at a polling station
- sending your vote by post
- nominating someone to vote on your behalf (proxy voting)
- your nominated proxy can vote on your behalf by post
Before you can vote, you need to register to vote. If you're not sure whether you're registered, you can check the electoral register.
